Announcing ADSC's new brand and website

With heartfelt thanks to our former Design Director, Imani Hamilton, we are very proud to unveil our new logo on our updated website. We believe it is fresh and modern, while still heavily invoking the style and esthetics of the Art Deco era, which our organization is dedicated to preserving.

Our website has been visually refreshed to incorporate this new logo as well as colors and fonts that complement it. We restructured the content to make it easier to navigate and updated the listings of theaters, restaurants, etc. in the Deco by the Bay section to the best of our ability. Of course, things are continually changing in our COVID world, so we encourage you to do your own research before attempting to visit any of the places advertised on our website.

Relatedly, our office email has been updated to zelda@artdecosocietyofcalifornia.org. Please update your address books so our emails don’t go to your spam folder!

This blog is also new. Be sure to check it out for the latest announcements from us, especially about preservation projects and organization-wide changes. The ADSC Events page will always have the latest information about the status of our events.

Newly posted to our blog is our Anti-Racism and Inclusivity Action Plan. It is our intent as a member-supported and registered non-profit to focus our efforts toward ensuring that our words, planning, deeds, and constructs do no harm to BIPOC and marginalized people in our country.

Finally, and most importantly, we have published our official Code of Conduct. This policy, developed in partnership with the Greater Bay Area Costumers Guild (GBACG), is to ensure all interactions with ADSC, whether online or in person, are safe and welcoming. We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or personal style.

We look forward to celebrating with everyone in person as soon as it is safe to do so!
